We lived together in the Seventies and were great mates. You taught me to teach and coach rugby and I helped your soccer. We never argued, had great chats about sport for hours and we had two donkeys to graze the orchard. You were a superb player and coach but above all a great mate. RIP Bob

Geoff and I were school friends in Tunbridge Wells, Kent - we met there in 1963. He was a fantastic sportsman - school 1st XV rugby, 1st XI hockey, first XI cricket - but, more importantly, he was a fantastic sport. Always very fair, always modest, always willing to help out and, where needed, give advice. His many friends back in Kent are shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. All these years later I remember Geoff well from playing with him in a great to team at Crediton RFC full of wonderful characters. He was a great full-on player on the pitch and lovely friendly man off it. Condolences to all the family.

A man who went above and beyond his call of duty. Made everyone feel good about themselves and had a heart as big as a bucket. Always got kicked out of class because I knew I would get sent to his office for a chat. A special person who played a big part keeping me in school. A true legend 👊

I was very fortunate to know Geoff at St. Lukes and then again when playing rugby together for several seasons at Crediton. An amazing man! I was luckily enough to be taught by Geoff and also be a good friend of his son Simon when growing up and spending time at their house after football matches whilst playing for Broadmeadow. A truly great gent. You’ll be missed. Xx

Geoff did a lot of the Ten Tors training with me over 2 years. He was always motivating, patient and a really good teacher. So sad to hear that he has passed but may he Rest in Peace. Love to all the family at this difficult time! Love Gemma xx

A wonderful teacher, so fondly remembered by many students he taught over the years. I have such warm memories of a genuine kind hearted man that was Mr Warne. My thoughts to all family and close friends that will miss this great character, remember him with love and laughter.
